How to Get Your Avon Starter Kit

When you join Avon to become an Avon representative, after you complete all the information to join, you will have the option to take a short quiz. At the end of the quiz, a kit will be recommended to you based on your answers. you can pick which ever kit you want, even if it is not the recommended oneYou will receive your starter kit within 3-5 business days through UPS.

Once you have completed the sign up process, you will receive a Welcome Email from Avon with all of your account information so you can register at youravon.com. Within 24 hours of joining, you will also receive a Welcome Email from myself. At that time, I will offer a few dates & times for us to meet in person or online (video chat) once your kit arrives. At that time we will go over your starter kit & how to use it to get customer orders as well as discuss any questions or concerns you may have.

TIP: Once you register your account at youravon.com, you can set up your e-Store url & use the Email Service Center on your account to let everyone you know that you are now open for business. Customers can begin to shop at your e-Store right away & let you know if they want a brochure!

No matter what kit you decide to start with, you can create a successful business. When I started, we were given a $15 starter kit that looks similar to the Quick Starter Kit with not as many brochures & business tools. It’s all on how you use what you got!

Selling Avon with Starter Kit Tip #1: Using Full Size Products

There are three ways you can use your full size products:

  • You can use some or all of the products yourself. This will help you be able to better know Avon product(s). If you have never used Avon products in your life, this is a great opportunity to try a variety of products at a discounted price. When customers ask, you can let them know what you thought about the product & how much you loved it.
  • Selling some or all of your full size products is a great way to start earning money right away. You can put the products in a small basket & bring it everywhere with you! Display it in your workplace’s lunchroom or take pictures of the items & post it on your social media.  Another great way to sell your full size products is by bundling a couple of the products together to create a gift basket you can sell. If you are someone who is looking to earn money right away, this is the way to go!
  • Raffle off a full size product. This is a great way to introduce your business with new people & to collect their names & contact information so you can start growing your customer base. You can raffle a full size product after your first campaign or within 30 days. (You can use Survey Cards found on youravon.com for people to complete as their entry into the raffle)  You can also raffle a full size product as a way to reward customers for placing an order with you. Have customers earn a free entry by placing an order. I suggest putting a minimum size order like $20 or $25 in order to qualify an entry. You can even set it up be every $20 or $25 they order so those who place big orders will have more of a chance to win. Raffles are a way you can show your customers how much you appreciate them & give them a chance to save money on a product they love or try a new product for free. Either way, they will love it. Let’s face it- people love F-R-E-E!

Selling Avon with Starter Kit Tip #2: Using Samples

Samples are an amazing business tool that can help you grow your personal sales. Here are some ideas on what you can do with samples:

Sample Packs

  • Let people know what samples you have available right away so if there is something they would like to try, you can give it to them to try & fall in love with it by the time your first order is due.
  • Create samplers to hand out to new potential customers. This is a great idea if you are looking for an ice breaker. You are able to open the conversation by offering them a free sampler & if they accept, it opens the door for you to ask for the contact information so you can follow up with them. As I said, everyone loves F-R-E-E, even if it is just samples.
  • Do you know that you can create your very own samples with full size products? You can go to your local Dollar Store & find mini containers or snack bags for you to put a sampling of a full size product in. You can then, give a sample to each person who receives a brochure so they have something to try.

However you choose to use samples, they are a very helpful, cheap way to grow your business & get people to fall in love with Avon. Be creative & have fun with it!

Selling Avon with Starter Kit Tip #3: Using Brochures

The Avon brochure is by far the most important tool you have at your disposal for your business. This is your store. This is where your customers will go to shop. Each starter kit comes with 2 campaigns worth of brochures. Once you receive your kit, the first thing you need to do is label them. Whether you just write down your contact info & e-Store or print out a label, it is important to let people know how they can shop with you.

TIP: When you place your first order, make sure you have enough brochures to hand out to all of your customers & to new customers. If you need more then what you received in your kit, you can order more.

Once your brochures are labeled, you can start handing them out. Here are some ideas on what to do with your brochures in your first couple campaigns:

  • Hand them out to your “warm market”- people you know personally. These are your friends, your family, neighbors. These are people who you have contact with on a regular basis.
  • To get the most use out of one brochure, ask your warm market to share their’s with those they know. This is a great way to start growing your customer base as you start off.
  • Share brochures with those you come into contact with on a regular basis but you may not know personally. These may be the moms who are waiting at the bus stop with you, someone waiting in line next to you at the store, your favorite waitress or cashier at your local restaurant or grocery store.
  • Do you work full time or know someone who works in an office filled with women? Leave a brochure in the break room with a couple sheets of order forms so co workers can browse during their break & write down their order for you.
  • Always have 2-3 brochures with you ready to hand out. You never know when you may run into someone who is interested. You can strike up a conversation with a stranger & in the middle of it find out they have been looking for an Avon representative for years now (trust me it happens). Having that brochure right there to give them is going to make their day!
  • Did you know that each brochure‘s prices are valid for 3 campaigns? If for some reason you do not hand out all of your brochures in your first campaign, continue to pass them out. Don’t throw out brochures.

TIP: Whenever you hand out a brochure, make sure you know how to get in contact with them, whether it is by phone, email or even Facebook Messenger. Just let them know its so you can follow up with them when your order is about to go in so you can make sure they don’t miss out on anything they may like.

The Avon What’s New is a demo book for Avon representatives. In it, you will find information about new products, tips on how to grow your Avon business, discounted prices on popular products & more. Here are some ways you can take advantage of the Avon What’s New:

  • Each Avon What’s New has sample bundles at a discounted price. This is a great way to stock up on samples so you can share them with customers & have them available when needed.
  • When a new product is released, Avon usually offers a special deal on samples for that product & demo prices on the new full size product. Having samples of new products is a great way to introduce customers to them- just tape them on the page the product is found in the brochure. I don’t highly recommend to my new representatives to purchase a lot of full size products, but if it is something they would personally use or have an idea on how to incorporate it in their business, then ordering it in the Avon What’s New is the way to go.Image result for avon what's new demo prices
  • Different popular products are available each Avon What’s New in bundle deals &/or demo prices. Once you start getting to know what your customers like, this can be very helpful. If you are just starting out, these deals are a great way to get products to add to gift baskets. You can also use these deals for your own personal use. This is a great way for you to save money as you transition your favorite beauty products to Avon.
  • *NEW* fashion & jewelry are available at demo prices. It is recommended to wear Avon when you go out so it can be a conversation starter when someone compliments you. If you don’t have any, or have very little, purchasing the *NEW* fashion & jewelry through the Avon What’s New is a great way to help you save money. It will also give you the opportunity to model the products to your customers & those you come into contact with.
